This notice explains how Glide Labs Limited ("Glide", "we", "us") handles personal data for the Glide website and, once available, the Glide apps. We are the data controller. Registered office: 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ.
1. What we collect
- Information you give us — such as your name, email, and any message you send to hello@theglideapp.com.
- Booking and trip data (once the app launches) — pick-up and drop-off locations, fares, and ratings.
- Technical data — device and usage information collected automatically to keep the Service secure and working.
2. How we use it
- To provide and operate the Service and process bookings and payments.
- To keep riders and drivers safe and prevent fraud and misuse.
- To respond to your enquiries and send service updates you have asked for.
- To meet our legal and licensing obligations.
3. Legal bases
We rely on performance of a contract (to provide rides you request), legitimate interests (to run and secure the Service), consent (for optional marketing, which you can withdraw at any time), and legal obligation (for record-keeping required of a licensed operator).
4. Sharing
We share data only as needed to run the Service — for example with the driver fulfilling your trip, our payment processor, mapping providers, and hosting providers — and with authorities where the law requires. We do not sell your personal data.
5. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above and to meet legal and licensing record-keeping requirements, then delete or anonymise it.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your data, object to certain processing, and request portability. To exercise these rights email hello@theglideapp.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
